The Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps is now hiring a Food Services Supervisor to support its culinary team during the 2025 summer tour. This seasonal position begins with remote planning in April and includes on-site work from late May through mid-August. Notably, the corps is seeking someone specifically to fill a critical three-week gap during the tour, with the option to assist during other parts of the summer as availability allows.
This is an ideal opportunity for a skilled cook or food service professional looking to make a meaningful impact—even if only for a portion of the tour. The role involves feeding over 200 people four times daily and requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. The Food Services Supervisor will report to the Culinary Director and will be essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment while training and guiding volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute weekly menus including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
Train volunteer kitchen crew on proper food safety protocols
Maintain Department of Health-level kitchen cleanliness and sanitation
Conduct daily inspections of the assigned kitchen vehicle
Adapt meals for allergies, vegetarians
Monitor inventory and communicate needs to the Culinary Director
Ensure a positive, safe experience for all members
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years in the food service industry
Experience with industrial kitchens or catering is a plus
Ability to work under pressure in a youth-centered, fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Willingness to work with people of all backgrounds and abilities
Compensation is negotiable, and the corps welcomes applicants who may not be available for the full tour but can provide support during the designated gap or beyond.
