Happy New Year / Update from the Corps Director

Updated: Sep 6, 2023

In a lot of ways the last two years have felt like one very long year. Heading into the 2020 season we were all ready to march forward like we always do, and then suddenly the Pandemic took that all away.

We faced unprecedented challenges over these last couple of years. From COVID-19 to reshaping the organization and heading in a new direction. It has been a roller coaster for sure. We wouldn't be here today without the love of our fans, alumni, parents, volunteers, donors, and of course our members.

It would be easy to point out all of the things that have been difficult in 2021. However, for us, it turned out to be a great year. With your help, love, and support the Troopers returned stronger. A new generation of members were able to experience the tradition of the Troopers. Together, we set up a new foundation for success going forward. We had many great memories last summer. From Yellowstone to Elvis Presley's house, from brand new horns and uniforms to the face peeling opening impact of our 2021 program "Unleashed."

The real heroes of our continuing legacy will always be the members of 2021. They had the guts to come back to the field, many for the very first time in fact. They didn't let the Pandemic win. They followed the health and safety protocols that were in place, adhered to all of the COVID era restrictions, and ensured that we had not one case of COVID-19 emerge during our time together. They won! They achieved the impossible in fact. In three weeks they put together one of the greatest shows in Troopers history, and became one of the most popular groups of 2021. In fact, according to the DCI fan vote, we were ranked 4th!

Our season ended on a high note for sure, and we couldn't have done it without our volunteers, staff, drivers, sponsors, and so many more. Thank you doesn't even begin to say it. Now, on the eve of a brand new year, I am so happy to report that the ripple effect of the hard work and dedication that everyone put forth has paid off. Video auditions and December camp attendance was the best we've seen in several years.

Also! Did everyone see the Troopers Alumni Corps in the parade in Plymouth, MA? Wow! People have been asking for an Alumni Corps for over twenty years, and here they are in action. Congratulations to Pat Chagnon and the entire Alumni Corps team for pulling this together! If you want to be a part of the Alumni Corps go to: https://www.troopersalumni.com/alumnicorps

The Troopers are coming! And we're coming with a vengeance. We have a few brass and guard spots still available in the "A" corps. Take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity at TroopersDrumCorps.org/join The corps is on the rise and we are about to pick up where we left off.

Be on the lookout in the next few days when we announce our 2022 program.

Happy New Year!

Reflecting on the past two years, it's incredible to see how far we've come despite the challenges. The Troopers have shown remarkable resilience and dedication, turning obstacles into opportunities for growth and success. The 2021 season was a testament to that spirit, with unforgettable moments and a program that resonated deeply with fans. geometry dash
